Before Boarding

• Please advise us immediately if you are pregnant, have mobility difficulties, cannot swim, have a medical condition that may affect your safety, or require any special assistance.

• Ensure all luggage is securely packed and can be safely loaded onto the boat.

• Wear suitable, non-slip footwear. Bare feet, socks and smooth-soled shoes are not recommended.

• Do not board the boat while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Life Jackets

• A life jacket is provided for every guest and must be worn whenever instructed by your host.

• Ensure your life jacket is correctly fastened before boarding.

• Children (where permitted) must wear a life jacket at all times while on the boat.

 

Boarding the Boat

• Board only when instructed by your host.

• Step carefully into the centre of the boat.

• Hold onto the handrails or other designated support while boarding.

• Remain seated while the boat is moving.

• Keep your hands, feet and personal belongings inside the boat.

During the Transfer

• Follow all instructions given by your host.

• Do not stand up or move around unless instructed to do so.

• Do not distract the boat operator.

• Smoking is not permitted during the transfer.

Arrival at Noah's Raft

• Wait until the boat has been secured before stepping onto the raft.

• Step carefully, as the raft may move slightly with the water.

• The decking can become slippery, particularly when wet.

• Please take extra care at night and use the provided lighting.

During Your Stay

Please remember that Noah's Raft is a floating structure surrounded by open water.

• Children must be supervised at all times (if applicable).

• Do not dive into the lagoon.

• Swimming is at your own risk.

• Exercise caution around the edge of the raft.

• Keep walkways clear of bags, shoes and other obstacles.

 

General Boat Operating Instructions for Transfer Boat:

• Keep to low speed

• Stay in the channel

• Avoid reeds

• Keep weight balanced

• Everyone seated

• Lifejackets compulsory

• Never stand while moving

• Phone us immediately if Engine won't start

Weather Policy​

Guests may not use the boat during:

• thunderstorms

• strong winds

• heavy rain

• poor visibility

​

If any of the above occur: 

Stop boating immediately. Return to the nearest jetty. Secure the boat properly. Wait for conditions to improve.

​

Please phone us for assistance in any of above cases and need for urgent moving to and from the jetty/house boat.

If Someone Falls Overboard: 

1. Stay calm.

2. Immediately stop the boat.

3. Switch off the engine before approaching the person in the water.

4. Throw the life buoy or flotation aid if available.

5. Assist the person back into the boat carefully.

6. If they cannot get back into the boat:

   • Keep them floating.

   • Call for emergency assistance immediately.

7. Seek medical attention if the person has inhaled water, is injured or shows signs of hypothermia.

If the Boat Hits an Object

1. Reduce speed immediately.

2. Stop the engine.

3. Check that everyone is safe.

4. Inspect the boat for damage.

5. If water is entering the boat:

   • Return to shore immediately if safe to do so.

   • Contact management.

6. Report all collisions, even if no damage is visible.

If Someone Is Injured

Minor injuries:

• Use the First Aid Kit provided - Located on the House Boat

• Clean and dress wounds.

• Notify management.

Serious injuries:

• Call EMR Ambulance on 076 585 0899

• Contact the Property Manager.

• Do not move the injured person unless they are in immediate danger.

• Keep the person warm and comfortable until help arrives.
