Use the code 1969 to open the gate. 📍 Important: Don't forget to collect the keys from the lockbox mounted on the wall near the gate. Use combination 2619 From the tar road gate, a long sand road leads to the house. The road is suitable for most vehicles, but not recommended for very low-clearance sports cars. When exiting, no remote is needed—simply drive up to the gate, and it will open automatically.

Key Collection: Use combination 1969 to open the gate. The keys are stored in a lockbox mounted on the inside of the white boundary wall, at the gate. During your stay, you may encounter creatures such as birds, field mice, spiders, or snakes. We kindly advise guests to exercise caution and avoid letting children play in or near the bushes.

Other
Pets welcome, please note the property is not fenced. Beach Access: A footpath leads to the beach, starting at the green tree nearest the house. (If you’re standing on the stoep facing the ocean, it’s the closest green tree to the left at the edge of the lawn.) The path goes through some bushes that may be a bit overgrown, so please take care as you walk. Depending on recent rainfall, you might encounter river water flowing into the ocean, but you should still be able to walk alongside it on the grass and shrubs.
Load Shedding & Solar
Electricity: The Log House is completely off-grid, powered by solar panels and gas (for the shower and stovetop). There is no Eskom power connection or backup generator on the property. Please use electricity sparingly to avoid draining the batteries. Once depleted, the batteries need to recharge via sunlight before power can be restored, meaning you may experience temporary outages until the solar system has enough charge. Keep in mind that during overcast or rainy weather, solar panels take longer to recharge. If the batteries do run out and the power goes off, please notify us so we can arrange for someone to assist with restarting the inverter. Although power interruptions have been rare, to help prevent them, please follow these simple guidelines: 1. Avoid using high-energy appliances like straighteners and hairdryers 2. Turn off lights when not needed, especially during the day 3. Whenever possible, use electrical devices during daylight hours rather than at night (like the microwave) 4. Please do not bring or use your own electrical appliances (such as toasters, kettles, etc.)
