Whale Watching Gansbaai & Pearly Beach, Western Cape - Accommodation.jpg

Whale Watching

Gansbaai & Pearly Beach are some of the most prime places in the world for whale watching.

Every year from June to December the whales make their way from the icy Antarctic to our warm, sheltered bays to mate, calve and raise their young. They come really close to the shore and their playful nature puts in quite a show for spectators.

Guests can choose to watch these beauties from the shore or up close on a boat cruise (or both!)

For those who prefer to stay ashore, land based whale watching is also very popular in Gansbaai & Pearly Beach specifically, due to the low-lying cliffs and the Southern Right whale's inquisitive nature to come up close to the rocky shore.

Below we've put together all our vacation rentals offering guests front row seats to this spectacular sight, where you can sip wine, next to a fire, while enjoying these majestic creatures.
